Little, Morris race gets ugly

Just days before voters go to the polls for the Nov. 19 general election, the two candidates who are vying for the House District 14 seat traded barbs in a series of attack ads on television and in competing news releases.

Monroe attorney Jay Morris accused his opponent of spreading lies. Morris made the statement at a news conference held Tuesday afternoon in Monroe.

Meanwhile, state Rep. Sam Little – Morris' opponent – fired back with a news release issued late Tuesday, standing by claims that Morris evicted a member of the U.S. military the day before the soldier was to be deployed overseas.

According to Little, the law firm Morris operates foreclosed on a house owned by National Guardsman Antonio White.
