The Ouachita Lions scored 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to pull away from the New Iberia Senior High School Yellow Jackets 47-22 for bi-district playoff victory at Lion's Stadium.
Ouachita senior quarterback Quentin Wheeler had a great game by completing 12 of 18 passes for 226 yards with one touchdown and zero interceptions. On the receiving end of most of Wheeler's passes was Tiajuan Thomas who caught 7 receptions for 137 yards with one touchdown.
"The playoffs is all about getting out there with a win," Ouachita Coach John Carr said, "I don't think we played our best, but we played good enough to move on."
Ouachita's outstanding kicker T.J. Kijak nailed the first of two field goals on the night - a 40 yard field goal to start the scoring in the first quarter. Kijak kicked a 37 yard field goal in the third quarter...
