River Oaks wins thriller, 29-27 - Mustangs host MAIS North State Champions River Oaks overcame an early setback to move on to the next round of the MAIS playoffs with a 29-27 victory over North Delta.
"North Delta came out a little better on offense than we thought they would," River Oaks head coach Robert Hannah said. "They have an excellent mobile quarterback that we had to adjust to contain."
One of the biggest plays of the night belong to Mustang return man Davis Harris. After North Delta scored to take a 14-6 led, Harris took the ball at the River Oaks 30 and raced 60 yards down to the North Delta 10. Alex Biedenharn took it in from 10 yards out for a touchdown and scored on the two-point conversion to tie the game, 14-14, at the half.
"It was an excellent game," Hannah said. "We went in tied at the half, the third quarter was a defensive stalemate, and in the fourth the offenses woke up again. I think that the fans got to see one heck of a ball game tonight."....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
