I know it  is Rich Bailey's right to endorse whoever he wishes but I don't understand why he did not support Chief Deputy Joanna Massey for Assessor. If he felt he had to support someone who works in the office, then Joanna would have been the logical choice. Of those who work in the office, she has the most education, training and experience.

All I hear is that the Assessor's office will continue to be run the same way it has been run for over 20 years. For this reason, I will not support someone from the Assessor's office as a candidate because I think we have a chance for a totally different approach. I believe we should welcome a different attitude and understanding that comes from Paul Hargrove, the candidate from the business community.

Paul is the only candidate with a degree in Accounting from ULM who is certified by the Louisiana Assessors Association. He has 20 years of managing the tax department for CenturyLink, a company that has to deal with taxes in over 30 states. In 2008, Paul was appointed by Governor Jindal to the Louisiana Tax Commission. They were responsible for overseeing the operations of the assessor's offices for the entire state.

Paul has seen what works in other parishes and will bring the best practices of them all together to benefit Ouachita Parish. He is the only candidate for Assessor who has a record of proposing and cutting taxes on the business community. He offers a different understanding and positive approach that is necessary for us to continue to rebuild our economy in Ouachita Parish. Vote for Paul Hargrove and the future of Ouachita Parish.
