Martha Anderson: Nov. 10, 2011
What a fabulous fall weekend we have enjoyed in Louisiana...cool and leaves falling while the LSU Tigers rolled the Tide from Bama. LSU received 59 of 60 first place votes for BCS rating, No. 1.
Many of us watched the "biggest game ever " with old friends from Neville celebrating the 55th reunion of this 1956 class. Linda Noe Laine, the late La. Governor and Mrs. James A. Noe's daughter, hosted the fantastic Friday night Italian supper at the Chateau with the Victor. Fresh flowers, fruit, pumpkins graced every table with candles in wine bottles to give the evening the right ambiance. Linda surprised us by taking care of everything including the decorations, menu and libations.
The behind-the-scenes leaders included Catherine Carso Ray, Nancy Ledbetter Wilson and Bill, Carolyn Boyce Traweek, Bill Ledoux, and Spec Lewis. Special guests and all time favorites, Sybil and Coach Van Leigh watched the football game with us on large screen TV at the Atrium until LSU won in overtime. There until the end were Patti and Jack Rivers, J.C. and Barbara Scalia and the names already mentioned. Linda and Glen Bassett were in from Houston, Frances and David Brinson from Baton Rouge. Kay and Larry Stephens from Tennessee. The menu from the Atrium was superb and the cheesecake with a layer of chocolate was the best. .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition!
