'Looziana' offers taste of bayou politics, life By Michael DeVault The Citizen
It has often been said that life in the Bayou State is a healthy blend of faith, family, food and politics.
It isn't surprising that those are the four themes most commonly explored in Fred Mulhearn's "Life in Looziana", a collection of cartoons and commentary compiled from a lifetime of gently lampooning Louisiana on the pages of some of the state's most prominent newspapers.
Mulhearn is best known as the political cartoonist for The (Baton Rouge) Advocate. His cartoons also are published regularly by The Ouachita Citizen and its sister newspapers, the Concordia Sentinel and The Franklin Sun.
Mulhearn's "Life" features roughly 60 political cartoons. Each cartoon is accompanied by a brief commentary of one or two pages. ......For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
