Big sports bring big dollars A pair of international sporting events currently under way in Ouachita Parish will generate more than $4.2 million for the local economy in a single week.
The Bass Master Classic returns to the Ouachita River this weekend when more than 54 fishing teams from around the world will take to the water. Meanwhile, 300 riders and their families will converge on the Ike Hamilton Expo Center for the U.S. Team Penning Association World Championships.
It is the second time the USPTA has held the championship horse event at the Ike. The Bass Master federation fishing tournament on the Ouachita River has become an annual staple in the Twin Cities.
