Town to annex part of Parrot's Beak Road

The Town of Sterlington may grow a bit in the very near future.

The town's Board of Aldermen will vote next week on an ordinance to annex a 60-foot right of way along a stretch of Parrot's Beak Road.

The land and road are already owned by the town. However, they're outside the town's corporate limits.

Sterlington Mayor Vern Breland said the move to annex comes after land developers completed the necessary improvements on behalf of the town of Sterlington.

"We own it," said Breland. "Now, we're bringing it into the town limits."
