Monroe to replace two water mains on north side Residents along two major thoroughfares in the City of Monroe will see improved water service in the near future, thanks to a move by the Monroe City Council.
At a regular meeting last week, the City Council approved advertising for bids to construct two water mains to service customers along a stretch of Oliver Road and along Loop Road in Monroe's north side.
According to public works director Tom Janway, the projects were previously in the works but were placed on hold when the program funding them ran out of money.
