Riley announces for Monroe mayor's race

A former member of Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo's administration is interested in his old boss's job.

Johnny Riley served Mayo as the director of Community Affairs, overseeing the city's Civic Center, parks, community centers and the zoo.

Riley served the Mayo administration from April 2005-November 2008. Riley left city government to take a post with Louisiana Workforce Commission in Baton Rouge.
Now, he wants to be mayor.

"On this day, we're declaring that I, Johnny Riley, am running for mayor of the City of Monroe," said Riley.
