Recording studio opens in WM

Local musicians who want to cut an album or just record a demo track now have a home.
Music City Studios opened its doors last Friday, with a ribbon cutting and celebration at its new building on North 7th Street in West Monroe.

Music City was the idea of Scott Frick and his wife, Gayle, of West Monroe.

A life-long musician and Nashville music executive, Frick said he wanted to build the facility because there was nowhere for local talent to record their music.

"It's already expensive enough," said Frick. "Why not just stay home, eat your own food and sleep in your own bed and record your album?"
