Mississippi Valley State attempted to be spoilers of the Grambling State homecoming by scoring 17 unanswered points to force overtime in front of a capacity crowd at Robinson Stadium.

In only his second play of the afternoon, Tigers' freshman quarterback D.J. Williams stepped behind center and found senior receiver Mario Louis who hauled in the 10-yard pass for the 30-24 victory.

On the winning play, Williams audibled from a run at the line of scrimmage after seeing one-on-one coverage on Louis. Louis ended the contest with six receptions for 99 yards and three touchdowns.

Mississippi Valley had the first possession of the overtime period. On third down, the Grambling defense held the Red Devils five yards short of a first down thanks to a tremendous hit by linebacker Cliff Exama.
