Ruston visits Rebels
Last week's showdown between Ouachita and West Monroe lived up to all of the expectations of those two storied programs, as both teams competed in an epic struggle with West Monroe escaping with a 17-14 overtime victory.
"The Ouachita Lions are winners in my book," West Monroe head coach Don Shows said. "We were glad to get out of there with a win."
West Monroe kicker Zachary Alexander booted the game winning 23-yard field goal in the first overtime for the Rebels to remain undefeated in district play.
West Monroe was set up to win the game thanks to a fumble recovery by defensive back Xavier Woods during the Ouachita overtime possession.
