ULM's Browning, Bailey named Players of Week ULM quarterback Kolton Browning has been named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week and running back Mitchell Bailey has been named the Sun Belt Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday morning.
Browning, a sophomore from Mabank, Texas, led an unstoppable ULM offense that put up 35-unanswered points against the five-time defending Sun Belt Conference champion Troy Trojans to close out the game. He finished the contest 23-of-31 for 275 yards and three touchdowns through the air; he also added 33 yards on nine carries on the ground to top the 300-yard mark in total offense.
The Warhawks outgained the Trojans 325-6 in the second half as they handed them their worst home loss in Larry Blakeney's 21-year career. Browning led the Warhawks to five touchdowns on their final six drives of the game to hand Troy just its 13th home loss in the Blakeney era. ....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
