DWI court graduates first participant

A substance abuse program aimed at providing addiction treatment for DWI offenders graduated its first participant last week.

According to DWI court director Molly Kelly, the individual successfully completed almost three years of treatment without receiving any sanctions.

"He has completed everything that was requested of him," said Kelly, who requested the man's name be withheld.

"He's been given the tools, everything he will require for the rest of his life, and hopefully he'll maintain sobriety," Kelly said. "We've done everything we can through this program."
