College works to increase domestic violence awareness
Louisiana Delta Community College's Division of Student Services and Student Counseling, in collaboration with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Omicron Iota Omega Chapter and the Wellspring Alliance for Families, will present an event in two parts raising awareness of domestic violence in Louisiana.
Removing the Mask from Domestic Violence, an Awareness and Outreach Program, will be Oct. 24 at LA Delta's main campus, 7500 Millhaven Road.
The morning program will begin at 11 a.m. in the Student Commons Area of the Louisiana Purchase Building. Speakers will include LA Delta staff and Wellspring Representatives sharing personal testimonies and statistics on domestic violence in the area.
