During the last state-wide primary elections in 2007, Ouachita Parish saw 4,984 voters cast early ballots. On the third day of early voting in 2007, only 1,380 voters had gone to the polls. In years past, the percentage of early ballots has been a fairly reliable indicator of election day turnout.
