The annual Friends of Black Bayou Fall Celebration at Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge will be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15.

The public is invited to the free event.

Outdoor activities for the family include:

* Free Fish Fry, Corn Dogs, Jambalaya, and Drinks
* Desserts (including Black Bayou Lake Mud Pie)
* Alligator Snapping Turtle Release
* Drawing for Square Stern Canoe
* Turning of the Blue Goose (migration marker)
* Display of Winning Photo Contest Pictures
* Live Animal Exhibits -gators, snakes, turtles, etc.
* "Let's Go Outside" Discovery Packs
* Buttons & Tattoos
* Face Painting
* Birdhouse Building with Home Depot
* Free Canoeing
* Guided Bird Walk at 8:00 am
* Mystery geocache with refuge GPS units
* Activities by such groups as Masur Museum, ULM Museum of Natural History, Children's Museum, Louisiana Purchase Zoo, Louisiana Wildlife Federation, Monroe City Schools and more.
