Early voting for the Oct. 22 primary election will begins Saturday.

The Ouachita Parish Registrar of Voters office is anticipating a high turnout among early voters.

"I'm expecting a huge turnout with early voters," said Christa Medaries, Registrar of Voters. "A lot of people want to vote early and get it out of the way because they are going to ball games or hunting on election day."

Early voting will begin Oct. 8 at the Registrar of Voters office on St. John Street in Monroe. Polls will remain open from 8:30 a.m. To 6 p.m. each day until Oct. 15. Early voting is closed Sunday, Oct. 9.
