WMPD eyes five new officers
The West Monroe Police Department is hiring.
Chief Christopher Elg said the department is looking to fill as many as five open slots on the force.
"We've got a current opening in the department," said Elg. "Also, we were recently informed we're the recipient of a U.S. Justice Department grant that will allow us to hire four more officers."
The grant funds are distributed by the U.S. Department of Justice and are intended to finance the hiring of new officers in municipal law enforcement agencies.
