Lions take on Bearcats
The Ouachita Lions (4-1) and the Ruston Bearcats (3-2) open District 2-5A play by continuing one of the state's longest football rivalries.
Ouachita has had extra time to prepare for the Friday night matchup. Ouachita hosted and defeated Evangel Christian Academy last Thursday, 24-7.
Quarterback Quentin Wheeler began the game with an 80-yard touchdown run and had two scores on the ground in leading Ouachita past the defending Class 2A state champions.
Ouachita raced out to a 24-0 lead by halftime.
