West Monroe restricts billboards
The city of West Monroe will place significant new restrictions on billboards and other types of signs in an effort to improve the aesthetics of the city.
At a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen last week, the city adopted amendments to three ordinances that seek to rein in so-called "off-site advertising."
The biggest change: no new billboard will be approved along several of West Monroe's busiest roads.
