WOSC earns national accreditation

The staff and volunteers at West Ouachita Senior Center have something to brag about.

Monday morning, the West Ouachita Senior Center became the first senior center in Louisiana to be accredited by the National Institute of Senior Centers, a unit of the National Council on Aging.

Executive Director Jeanette Ellington called the designation a "prestigious mark of excellence."

"This proves that our day-to-day operations are here to meet the needs of our growing senior population," said Ellington. "Our house is in order."
