Postal workers rally for agency reform Area postal workers and their supporters gathered outside U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander's office in Monroe Tuesday in hopes of garnering Alexander's support for a bill that promises to reform the U.S. Postal Service.
For just over an hour, about 60 people stood across the street from Alexander's office and waved as passing cars honked to signal their support.
The rally was organized by the Louisiana Rural Letter Carriers Association to call attention to the "real reasons" the Postal Service is facing financial hardships, according to Carlon Hollis. "The public is not getting the true story on the financial problems that the Postal Service has," Hollis said. "We can't even use our own funds to get us back on track." .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
