The Ouachita Parish School Board will kick off its 2011 Adopt-a-School drive Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in West Monroe.

The kick-off event is being held in conjunction with the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce.

Businesses and organizations interested in adopting a school for the upcoming year are encouraged to attend the event, which will feature community partners, school contacts, principals and school district personnel.

"Whether you are a current adopter or have been thinking about becoming one, or maybe you just want to show your support of the program, the 2011 Kick-Off Event is for you," said Aline Smead, communications coordinator for the Ouachita Parish School Board.

If you have any questions about the event, or for more information, contact the Ouachita Parish School Board.

Attendees are encouraged to R.S.V.P. to Deanna by calling (318) 325-1961.
