West Monroe returns home The West Monroe Rebels (1-1) responded from their season-opening loss to Byrd with a shutout of another Shreveport foe, Calvary Baptist Academy, 37-0, last Saturday.

The Rebels and Cavaliers met at Independence Stadium as part of a three-game block of games pitting regional football powerhouses against each other. West Monroe made sure the memories of the devastating loss to Byrd were quickly erased.
"We had a whole week of feeling bad," West Monroe head coach Don Shows said. "I was real pleased with our effort in this game. I thought special teams and defense played really good. On offense, we did some good things but we have a lot we still need to improve on."
