Brown's candidacy challenged

A complaint was filed Friday with the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office challenging Harris Brown's candidacy in the Senate District 35 race.

Brown qualified earlier this week to oppose Sen. Bob Kostelka in the Oct. 22 primary election. Monroe attorney Jeff Guerrierio qualified for the race, too.

Harold Eugene Hodges of Monroe filed the complaint with the District Attorney's office, alleging Brown did not meet the residency requirements to run for the District 35 seat.

"After reviewing the information we have in hand we will take the appropriate action," said District Attorney Jerry Jones.
