Candidates qualify for fall elections Candidates began qualifying Tuesday for the Oct. 22 primary elections in which a number of local and state offices will be up for grabs.
Qualifying will end 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8.
Voters will go to the polls Saturday, Oct. 22 to select their candidates for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, state treasurer, commissioner of agriculture and forestry, commissioner of insurance and the District 5 representative for the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.
