OPPJ seeks $600k for road work

The Ouachita Parish Police Jury plans to apply for a $600,000 Louisiana Community Development Block Grant to improve a number of roads in western and eastern Ouachita Parish.

The deadline to apply for the grant is Nov. 23.

Parish treasurer Brad Cammack said the Police Jury applied for the grant for the same road improvement projects last year, but it was not awarded the funding.

If awarded the grant funding this year, the roads in western Ouachita Parish slated for improvement include Adell, Blazer, Cooper, Hazelwood, Nat, Rowan and Tim roads.
