West Monroe tops parish in ACT scores

West Monroe High School led Ouachita Parish Schools with the highest composite ACT scores in 2011 and outpaced the state and national averages, too.

The Louisiana Department of Education week released the 2011 ACT results last week, which included the average composite English, mathematics, reading and science scores at both district and school levels.

According to the state Department of Education, the averages were computed by using the ACT scores most recently scored by students who were or would have been members of the state's 2011 graduating class. Scores are reported for public schools only.
