Non-partisan site offers first-time candidacy advice First-time candidates for any office can get daily online advice on running their campaigns from a web site that aims to encourage and assist people to seek public office.
Howtogetelected.com is a non-partisan site started by independent journalist John Maginnis, who has taught classes on running for office since 2004.
"Too many good people are scared off from running because of the stress and ugliness of politics, but also for a lack of knowledge about the basics of how an election campaign should work," said Maginnis.
Consultant and CNN analyst James Carville and former governor Buddy Roemer, a former consultant himself, lead a revolving cast of over 20 campaign professionals and candidates, whose tips for candidates appear on the site.
The site will post a video "Tip of the Day" through the election season. |
