Albritton joins Board of Aldermen
Businesswoman Staci Albritton was tapped Tuesday to serve on the West Monroe Board of Aldermen.
Acting at a special meeting, the Board of Aldermen appointed Albritton to fill a vacancy created when L.O. "Sam" Yeager died last week. Yeager, 83 at the time of his death, served as alderman since 1967.
The Board of Aldermen also voted to call a special election for West Monroe voters to elect an alderman to serve out the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends June 30 2014.
Qualifying for the special election will be Dec. 7-9. The special election will be held Saturday, April 21.
Albritton is a graduate of West Monroe High School. She holds a bachelor of science degree in agriculture economics from Louisiana State University.
