Local scout lends hand to NELSA

The Boy Scouts of America organization has been shaping young men into community servants for many years. Recently the Northeast Louisiana Soccer Association, or NELSA, saw a local scout give back in a big way.

Jordan McNeely, 13, is an eighth-grade student at Good Hope Middle School in West Monroe. McNeely was working to complete the necessary projects to become an Eagle Scout — the highest rank in the organization.

He is a member of Troop 66 in West Monroe where he has met with his scout group since 2004.
