Alderman Yeager succumbs to cancer
West Monroe Alderman L.O. "Sam" Yeager died early Monday following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was 83.
Under the direction of Kilpatrick's Funeral Home in West Monroe, services for Yeager will be held Wednesday at Kilpatrick's beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Antioch Methodist Cemetery in Eros.

Yeager was appointed to the West Monroe Board of Aldermen in 1967 when Bert Hatten served as mayor. Yeager was appointed to succeed Alderman Roland Mix, who died in office.

He held his seat on the Board of Aldermen until his death.
