Funeral services for Maida Holstead Thompson, 86, of West Monroe, were held Wednesday, Aug. 10, at First United Methodist Church in West Monroe with Rev. Jon Tellifero officiating. Interment followed at Indian Village Cemetery in Calhoun under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Funeral services for A.C. "Chester" Thornhill were held Monday, Aug. 1, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe with Eugene Brown officiating. Interment followed at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.

J.W. Williamson
Funeral services for J.W. Williamson, 72, of Monroe, were held Thursday, Aug. 11, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe.
Mr. Williamson died Saturday, Aug. 6, at Glenwood Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Bastrop on Oct. 27, 1938 and graduated from Mer Rouge High School in 1957. He worked with Breck Construction. He was "PawPaw" to everybody who knew him. He loved Nascar, Dale Sr., Dale Jr., Louis Lamour, and John Wayne. He was loved by all who knew him.
Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Lee Morgan Williamson; his mother, Ethel French Williamson; father, Henry T. Williamson; and his brothers, Henry D. Williamson and Sidney Williamson.
Survivors include sister, Doris Suidy and husband Patrick; sons, Curtis King, H. Michael King and companion Sheila Beauvais; daughter, Patricia King Crumpton; grandchildren, Chelsea King, Whitney King and husband Chris, Ariel King, their mother, Patren King, and Patricia King and Michael Norris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Walter Kemper, David Bedenbender, Ronnie Jones, Buddy Taylor, Jaime Taylor, and Andy Benson. Honorary pallbearers were Mitchell Tuckett and Rex Graves.
