WM boxer wins at nationals

Local amateur boxer Blake LaCaze not only performed well at the recent U.S. National Junior Olympic Boxing Tournament, but he got to meet a boxing legend as well.

LaCaze recently returned from the prestigious national championship tournament in Mobile, Ala., where he took the bronze medal in the 165 lbs division.

LaCaze, 15, currently trains under Sparky McDuffie at the West Monroe Boxing Club.
LaCaze has been making strides in state competitions for the past couple of years and has now cemented his name on the national level which could lead to even bigger victories on bigger stages in the future.
