Following last month's analysis drainage projects that need to be tackled in Ouachita Parish, one parish official is ready to move forward with establishing a comprehensive drainage plan.

The Ouachita Parish Police Jury last month reviewed parish-wide flood control projects with parish engineer Tom Holtzclaw. He showed the Police Jury a number of projects that were last updated in 2005.

In all, there are 60 projects on the books that totaled $85 million in 2005. However, construction cost today could push that figure up to $110 million, according to Holtzclaw.
