Kostelka announces for re-election
Sen. Bob Kostelka announced earlier this week he will seek re-election this fall.
The primary election is Oct. 22.
A Republican from Monroe, Kostelka will vie for a third term representing District 35, which underwent a number of changes during the special session on redistricting.
Thanks to redistricting, District 35 now stretches from north Monroe to the Ruston area in Lincoln Parish and southward through Jackson and Grant parishes. It also takes in much of Rapides Parish.
Kostelka said his record in the Legislature indicates he has opposed big government, higher taxes and overspending.
