The Ouachita Parish Fire Department reminds the public to be aware of the requirements for displaying street and road numbering for businesses and residences.

Police, fire and emergency medical services depend on the proper display of addresses in order to respond to an emergency.

According to Greg Thompson, chief of fire prevention with the Ouachita Parish Fire Department, poorly displayed addresses or its improper placement often leads to a delay in services that may heighten threats to life or property.

The compiled ordinances of Ouachita Parish outline the requirements for street and road numbering for those living outside the city limits of Monroe and West Monroe.
