Sumrall hopes to succeed Hodge

Local attorney Leah DeCelle Sumrall announced this week she will be a candidate for Ouachita Parish Clerk of Court in the Oct. 22 primary election.

Clerk of Court Bill Hodge recently announced he would soon retire from office. Hodge has served as Clerk of Court since 1988.

Sumrall said her experience in the criminal court system has provided her with the knowledge and ethics "to do the job and do it right."

Sumrall's experience and knowledge of the criminal court system includes her prior career with adjudicated juveniles in the state criminal justice system.
