Secretary of State Tom Schedler and the staff of the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum will mark the 150th anniversary of the Civil War at the museum with the opening of an American Civil War exhibit. It will feature 100 examples of artillery and articles used by the Confederate and Union Armies during the bloody conflict from 1861 through 1865 that divided states and families.

The weapon collection includes muskets, rifles and rifled muskets, bayonets, a Bowie knife and an officer's saber. The exhibit will be on display through the fall and can be viewed during museum hours: Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For more information about the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum, visit www.sos.louisiana.gov/camm or call (318) 362-5540.
