Krewe gears up for next Mardi Gras
The Krewe Of Janus held its monthly meeting Wednesday at the Krewe of Janus float den on Louisville Avenue.
Each year the Krewe of Janus elects a charity to sponsor for the upcoming year. The chosen charity receives a portion of the monies derived from the Krewe sponsorship of a bimonthly Texas Hold'em poker tournament.
This tournament has been quite successful in raising significant monies which are donated to the chosen charity. The next Texas Hold'em tournament is at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the Krewe of Janus float den on Louisville Avenue with registration starting at 5 p.m.
