Monroe has earned a place on the culinary map in the latest edition of Louisiana Cookin' Magazine.

Local chef Cory Bahr, of Restaurant Sage, has been named as one of their 2011 Chefs to Watch, and local favorite, Big Momma's Fine Foods, was named as a stop on the "Ultimate Fried Chicken Trail."

The 10th Annual Chefs to Watch Awards Dinner will be held Aug. 22 in the Theatre at Harrah's New Orleans. Bahr, along with other award winners, will prepare a five-course meal and passed hors d'oeuvres.  According to the article, chefs are chosen for their "understanding and respect for Louisiana's unique culinary heritage while exhibiting the creativity and energy needed to engage today's diners…"
