Richwood mayor asks police jury for help

Richwood Mayor Steve Hunter recently requested the Ouachita Parish Police Jury help his town with some drainage and beautification efforts.

During last week's regular Police Jury meeting, Hunter asked if the parish would consider cleaning out the ditch just south of St. James Baptist Church due to the backflow of water and sewerage coming from the school system and other businesses in that area.

"I don't know what the Police Jury could do to possibly assist us in that area, but there is a concern there," Hunter said.
