Panthers 10U win title
Local youth baseball teams continue to bring home the gold. The Sterlington Panthers 10U All-Star team recently won the USSSA World Series in Mandeville.
The Panthers went 9-1 in the tournament and won seven consecutive games over a three-day period to claim the title.
"We had played a couple of qualifying tournaments just to see if we had a chance to do anything," coach Kerry Elee said. "We took them to a tournament in Jackson, Miss., and then we placed third at the state tournament in Slidell."
