Softball team wins district
ll team is headed to the state championship tournament as the West Monroe Americans 7-8 year old All-Star team beat the West Monroe Nationals on Saturday to claim the district title.
"The team just jelled and came together," West Monroe Americans coach Jason McKey said. "After that we played pretty good ball."
The team won four games in two days and will now play in the 7-8 year old Louisiana state tournament in Tioga this weekend.
