Ouachita Bancshares Corp, parent company of Ouachita Independent Bank, announces its performance for the first six months of 2011.

"Our bank continues to grow and prosper when banks in other parts of the country are still recovering from the recession," said Clyde White, chairman and CEO of the company. "Although 2010 was a record year for us, the first six months of 2011 indicate that this year will be even better."

Total Assets of the bank grew from $481.1 million as of Dec. 31, 2010, to a level of $514.6 million as of June 30, 2011, a 7 percent increase.

Income before tax for the first six months was $4,321,305.00, up by $370,254.00, or 9.4 percent for the same period last year.

OIB operates in five cities in North Louisiana including Monroe, West Monroe, Bastrop, Shreveport and Bossier City. It was recently honored by earning the 2011 Spirit of Excellence Award during the 2011 Thomas H. Scott Awards of Excellence.
