O.K. program participant wins art contest

Alan Michael Robinson, a student of Monroe's Our Kid's program, recently won first place in the 5th Congressional District category of the 30th annual Congressional High School Art Competition.

Robinson's oil painting, entitled, "On Top of the World." will hang in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. from June 2011 until June 2012.

O.K. program coordinator Monroe Police Officer Cpl. Larry Wilson traveled with Robinson recently to attend a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol.
