Monroe to host Horseshoe Nationals
While local sports fans get excited about baseball and softball championship tournaments and the beginning of football season, the city of Monroe has announced a truly unique experience as the 2011 World Horseshoe Pitching Championships come to Monroe July 18.
The 2011 World Horseshoe Pitching Championships will be held in Monroe July 18-30.
For the first time in history, the event will be run with electronic scoring systems on all courts. Forty-six portable horseshoe courts will be set up in the Monroe Civic Center Arena for the two-week event.
