Local runner hopes to finish race
For years Monroe resident Erin Stephens has dreamed of running in the St. Jude's Marathon in Memphis, Tenn.
Stephens has talked with her father, Mike Stephens, about entering the race for the past several years, but recently began taking steps to make that dream a reality.
Stephens, a receptionist for the Human Resources department at Monroe City Hall, began training two months ago in the hopes of running the race in the winter of 2012.
